Project Management
Carrying out effective project management is crucial to the success of any large IT initiative. Major benefits accrue in a number of key areas:
- Identifying project budgets and tracking costs -inexperienced IT project management often fails to identify the myriad of different places where unforeseen costs can arise, but your P&L will see them!
- Keeping solution providers as close as possible to their estimated costs.
- Integrating to other company systems – have you budgeted for this? Who is responsible? If there are problems how are you going to test it?
- Migrating data from old legacy systems – data cleaning /formatting.
- Testing thoroughly prior to implementation is critical to success.
